Betjemann Coromandel & Satinwood Writingbox with stunning veneers, engraved gilded brass decoration and escutcheon.

The interior features a blue velvet and gold tooled writing surface which the top half can be lifted to reveal a solid satinwood storage compartment.

The rear section of the box features satinwood stationary compartments, a coromandel pen tray and two original gilded brass screw topped inkwells. This rear section has a spring loaded hidden compartment which can be accessed by pressing the flush fitting gilded brass button in the centre of the writing surface, this is engraved with the following “Betjemann’s Patent N275” surrounding a crown.

This fabulous Betjemann’s writing slope comes with a fully working lock and tasselled key.
