Description

Coromandel sewing box by Mechi with Mother of Pearl escutcheons, fittings and perfume bottle.

The top escutcheon has the letters “HG from DG” engraved.

The inside of the lid is lined with a ruched velvet and folds down to reveal a letter compartment and makers label which reads: “Made by MECHI, 4 Leadenhall St. London.”
The interior of the box is lined with green velvet and silver paper and the lids have Mother of Pearl handles. The main section of the interior lifts out to reveal a large storage compartment underneath.

This sewing box comes complete with numerous compartments for embroidery silks, spools, silk measure, pin cushions and a beautiful cut glass perfume bottle.
