Description
A superb Shibayama pot encrusted with hundreds of detailed engraved flowers & leaves of mother of pearl, abalone and ivory. The silver pot lid lifts to reveal a beautiful finish known as Nashiji Lacquer, and to the centre of the lid is a mother of pearl plate which bears the signature: Masatsugu.
This wonderful pot stands on natural and bronze gilded leaf. Japanese, Meiji Period 1868-1912.
