An exceptional pagoda top tortoiseshell tea caddy with stunning gothic pressed tortoiseshell panels. Stands on four ornate sterling silver feet by London silversmiths Edward, Edward Junior, John & William Barnard, dated 1829. Has a wonderful cast silver escutcheon of flowers and silver pumpkin to the top. Contains a single tortoiseshell lid with turned bone handle which, when lifted, reveals two compartments retaining traces of its original foil lining. Comes from a large collection of fine antiques from the Beaucamp de Haut estate, in Guernsey. With fully working lock and key.
