Description

Antique table nutmeg grater made from Coquilla nut and Lignum Vitae. The turned and carved top unscrews to reveal the bone surrounded grater. The middle section a ring turned and carved waisted pedestal of lignum vitae, geometric carving and screw threads to the top, the base having diagonally carved leaves over a threaded base.
The lower section carved and turned from lignum vitae, with a detailed carved criss cross, threaded a deep opening for storing those precious nutmeg spices.
