Description
An Art Deco silver cocktail shaker by Miracoli dating to circa 1935, of traditional three-piece form with a gently tapered body comprising the removable cap, integrated strainer, and main vessel. The shoulder is finished with a rope-twist border, providing a subtle contrast against the clean, polished surface characteristic of high-end Italian barware of the period.
Produced in solid 800-grade silver, the shaker has an excellent weight and pleasing proportions throughout. The stepped construction allows the cap and strainer section to separate cleanly from the main body, ensuring the piece remains as functional as it is decorative.
The underside is fully marked ‘800’, signed R. Miracoli Milano, and stamped with the firm’s famous snake trademark. A stylish and collectible example of early twentieth-century European silver, combining classic Milanese silversmithing with the clean, modernist lines of the 1930s.

Who are Miracoli?
Founded in Milan in 1912, Argenteria Miracoli is the oldest operational silver workshop in Milan, holding the historic ‘Number 6’ registration stamp. Renowned for their “silver tailoring,” the firm became the premier destination for high-society Milanese clientele during the 1920s and 1930s, celebrated for heavy-gauge construction and immaculate hand-chiselling.
Surviving the wartime bombings of Milan, the laboratory reopened in 1946 under Roberto Miracoli, blending traditional craftsmanship with clean, modernist lines. Today, the fifth generation continues to operate from their historic atelier, preserving the hand-forged techniques that make early Miracoli silver highly sought after by international collectors.
