Description

A Japanese Meiji Period black and gold lacquer “jubako” or picnic set with flowers and scrolling leaf decoration. With nine compartments comprising of two four tier stacks and a single compartment.
The flowers and scrolling leaf decoration lines up on each set of compartments once stacked.

Jubako sets are special boxes traditionally used for serving “Osechi-ryōri”, Japanese new years foods.
