Amboyna Jewellery box with engraved flush fitted carrying handle and spring loaded jewellery drawer.

The interior of this antique jewellery box is lined with a green silk velvet and green leather paper. The removable tray has a number of compartments for storing bangles, chains, bracelets and watches etc. Beneath the lift out tray is further room for storage of jewellery, trinkets, etc.

To access the jewellery drawer there is a brass button in the long hinge that when pressed the small drawer at the front of the box springs forward..

Amboyna is a hardwood burr from a tree mostly found in Ambon, Indonesia.
