The bottom left is signed: “T. S. Boys Del et Lith”
Thomas Shotter Boys was a well-known English Watercolour Painter and Lithographer in the 1800s. He lived and worked in Paris between 1825 and 1837 and was a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours. Boys started as a Lithographer, where there was much demand for British engravers. Whilst he was there, he took up watercolour painting. In 1842, he produced a collection of 26 lithographs entitled – “London, as it is” which was hugely popular. This print is from this desired collection.
