A late George III Regency japanned Tole Ware Tea caddy.
The hinged lid cover has canted edges with bands of black and gold paint and a brass loop handle.
The front is decorated with a sailor mourning beside a monument inscribed “Nelson, He Conquered & Died 1805”
The background colour of the tea caddy is red with bands of black gold paint that match with the hinged lid. There is a lock and tasselled key.
Inside the Lord Nelson Tea Caddy there is a division, for two different types of tea.
