Description

Magnificent Brass Bound Coromandel Jewellery Box by Austin of Dublin. It has brass a barrel escutcheon, elaborate initial plate, fabulous stringing and ornate star inlays to each corner and has sturdy campaign style carry handles.

The interior is lined with mauve cotton silk velvet and features several compartments including one for rings, earrings and cufflinks.
The front of the box folds down only when a release catch on top of the lock is pressed, this secures the front and stops it dropping when opened. Once pressed it can be dropped down to reveal a brass handled drawer which contains further velvet lined storage compartments. Below this is a secondary hidden drawer which can be opened by pressing a false screw in the centre of the brass hinge on the back edge of the open box. This hidden drawer makes for perfect storage of those precious items.

Coromandel jewellery box comes with a fully working bramah lock and tasselled key. The bramah lock is spring loaded which means the key has to be pressed into the lock and then turned to lock and unlock.
