An antique jewellery box constructed from Mahogany using dovetailed joints and veneered in exquisite figured Coromandel with brass edging and stringing, engraved initial plate and fabulous ornate carry handles.

This impressive luxurious antique jewellery box is lined in blue padded velvet and gold-tooled leather. It features a removable jewellery tray that has seven compartments and two brass handles to aid removal. Underneath this tray, there are two larger storage compartments.

The underside of the main lid houses a removable velvet backed mirror. Which when removed reveals a secret leather letter compartment, complete with makers label which reads: “Jeweller Case Maker & (ineligible) T. Forgie 95 Buchanan St Glasgow”

This box oozes quality right down to the interior hinges and locks where it’s all beautifully engraved and then silvered. The back edge of the open box has a large button. Which when pressed causes the hidden drawer at the front of the box to spring open revealing more padded storage space.

The antique Jewellery box comes complete with a fully working lock and tasselled keys.
