This wonderful Antique Brass-bound Box is veneered in Rosewood.

It has a Brass barrel lock protruding out the front, a drawer handle and an engraved initial plate features on the top of the box; with an interesting belt design, it has the monogram: “P E M”.

Lifting the lid of this Rosewood Antique Box reveals a stunning interior. Padded Teal-coloured Velvet lines the interior to aid in protecting your precious valuables. When opened, you can see a Brass pin housed in the lock-keep of the front edge of the open box; removing this pin causes the drawer to the fore of the box to be opened, and this reveals additional padded storage space.

Flanked by two “Horne Patent”  Brass hinges, is a Cabinet Maker’s plaque reading: “Fisher-Maker-188 Strand” on the back edge of the open Antique Box.

Complete with an operational lock and an elegant tasselled key, this means you can keep your jewellery or your personal safe-keep items, secure.

Please note, the tasselled key must be turned clockwise to unlock.

Fisher

Fisher  was established in 1838 by Samuel Fisher, they traded out of 188 Strand, London. From travel bags and trunks, all the way to billiard tables and stoves, Fisher sold a wide range of items. Mr Samuel Fisher died on 9th March 1890, the business was then passed down to his sons, Robert Edward and Charles Alfred.
