Antique Venetian games box decorated with a colourful garden party scene. With brass hinges and two hook clasps to keep the lid secure.

The interior of the gaming counter box is lined with pink silk which is surrounded with a silver braid and contains four smaller boxes that house a variety of mother of pearl counters. One of the counter boxes has a very interesting scene with a fox being flung in the air, this was know as Fox tossing it was a competitive sport popular in parts of Europe in the 17th and 18th century. It was practiced by members of the aristocracy.
