From our Barware collection, we are delighted to offer this Chase Cocktail Shaker. The Cocktail Shaker of cylindrical form with ribbed black enamel rings to the top and bottom surmounted by a bakelite and chromium finial. Finished overall in Chrome plating with a truly Art Deco feel designed by Howard F. Reichenbach at the end of the prohibition in 1933. Fitted with a flush mounted lid and removable strainer retained with a turn lock motion. The shaker is signed with Chase’s centaur trademark bearing a bow and arrow above the words Chase U.S.A and below Pat No. 1,969,386 & 91,179.

The original Gaiety Cocktail Shaker was featured in the 1934 film Change of Heart (Directed by John G. Blystone for the Fox Film Corporation) alongside Janet Gaynor, Charles Farrell, James Dunn and Ginger Rogers. It is used by Ginger Rogers trying to woo Charles Farrell from Janet Gaynor. The film propelled its popularity across the USA during the early days of the Depression.
