I hope you all will join me in wishing Mark a belated happy birthday which he celebrated at the start of the week.
We are rapidly approaching September and after a lackluster summer here in the UK we are hoping for an indian summer to satisfy the cravings of sunshine. At Mark Goodger Antiques we have been adjusting to the new office and showroom and are really pleased with the finished space, the internet has been thoroughly tested this last few weeks and so far it has been plain sailing.
With September on the horizon it means we are also slowly approaching fair season again. We will be attending our usual circuit beginning with Battersea Decorative Fair from the 1st-6th of October, tickets will be available in due course. This week we have chosen to highlight this highly collectable Silver Plate Military Flask which was presented to Lieutenant-Colonel William Rennie VC (1821-1896). Rennie was awarded the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. At the age of 34 years old Rennie was awarded the Victoria Cross for his services during the Indian Mutiny.
