Mark has had a week after returning from the Harrogate Pavilions Fair and would like to pass his thanks on to everyone who made purchases from him at the fair. The Harrogate fair is continuing to be a great date in the calendar and a successful fair for Mark Goodger Antiques. As we head on into summer, our focus now aligns with our online platform with a sole plan of getting stock online for our clients to see. We also have our showroom which is available by appointment only for those clients looking to see our collection up close and we offer free international shipping for those slightly further afield.
Below are some of our noteworthy sales over the last two weeks which are now making their way around the world. The first piece is the fantastic Rosewood Writing Box by David Edwards which of course comes with a secret compartment but also with a very unusual tool tray hidden beneath the top compartment.
The second notable sale is the rare model four bottle tantalus by George Betjemann and Sons with its iconic tilt top handle and secure lockable frame. The four bottle models do not come on the market often and are a great example of Victorian high class barware.
The third sale is the absolutely stunning Tortoiseshell and Mother of Pearl Tea Caddy also known as the Harlequin, nicknamed after the classic comic pantomime character. The Tea Caddy featured in our latest 25th anniversary catalogue on page 13.
Finally, our last notable sale is the ever so popular Dunhill aquarium lighter fitted with Lucite panels depicting an underwater seascape with fish.
