Georgian Tea caddy veneered in well figured mahogany retaining such beautiful rich colour and patination. The tea caddy is quite naive in style which leads me to think its more of a country piece. The tea caddy has a ebony and boxwood inlay with a tulip wood cross banding on all sides including the top, with the front having with quarter fans. The top has a swan neck brass carry handle that's beautifully oxidised and a the date 1795 inlaid in boxwood, so no mistaking this from any other period but Georgian. It stands elegantly on splayed bracket feet.

Lifting the lid of this splendid tea caddy reveals a blue velvet lined lid, below are two compartments with mahogany lids with turned bone handles. These flank a removable cut glass tea caddy bowl.

This fabulous tea caddy comes with a fully working lock and tasselled key.
