Antique games compendium by London cabinet makers "Betjemann & Son". Veneered in rich figured feathered walnut, adorned with decorative brass and wonderful tiger eye agates and an elaborate monogram to the top.

Typical of the Betjemann workshop was their choice of veneers used on such luxury pieces as this Games compendium. Lifting the lid you are wowed by its interior of exotic Satinwood and Coromandel incorporating a Bone and Coromandel chess and backgammon board to the lid, further gaming pieces below include brass gilded cribbage and bezique scoreboards, a bone Staunton pattern chess set stained red and left natural, dice, score pegs, two ivory "finger" pointers, a set of thirty ivory backgammon counters stained red and left natural. On the back edge of the open box is a brass button. When pressed, a drawer at the front of the box springs open. The drawer contains two boneshakers, original Bezique playing cards and further natural and stained bone counters.

This wonderful luxurious Antique Games Box comes with a fully working lock & tasselled key, the lock is signed Betjemann & Son, London.
