Large Burr Walnutportable stationery box with flush brass carrying handle on the top.

The interior of the box features several compartments for storing letter and stationery. Either side of the main compartments are small leather bound boxes labelled “matches which also has a strike plate inside, “stamps” and Inkwell which is a travelling inkwell.

The writing box has a secret drawer to the side which can opened by pulling on the divider between “Bills Paid” & “Bills Unpaid”.

On the base near the top of the writing surface is a makers label which reads: “Frank Smythson 133 New Bond Street”

This stationery box comes with a fully working lock and tasselled key.
