A rare Chinese tea chest decorated with East Asian scenes, including temples and pagodas. In the form of a butterfly which, in China, symbolises love and loyalty. Stands on three stunning winged dragon feet.

The Chinese tea chest contains two engraved canisters and one small, the smaller to accommodate either a caddy spoon or sugar. The canisters are paktong, a soft metal similar to pewter and, as such, is prone to showing age and use. The canisters have been clearly been used and enjoyed, but are overall in very good condition.

This fabulous rare Chinese tea chest comes with a fully working lock & tasselled key.
