A very impressive large Brass bound Antique Coromandel Decanter Boxwith engraved gilded serving tray and green velvet interior by Mappin & Webb.

The interior of this Coromandel Decanter box features four large hobnail cut crystal decanters housed in green velvet lined interior, with four small sprit glasses which are secured in the top of the box lid, to the base is a beautiful gilded & engraved serving tray.

On the back edge of the box is a brass plaque which reads: “MAPPIN & WEBB sheffield 158 to 162 Oxford St Manson House Build London”

The Decanter box comes with a fully working Tasselled Bramah key and once unlocked, the two front can swing open to reveal its true splendour.

Operating the lock and key: You have to push key into the barrel of the lock and whilst keeping the key pushed in to the sprung barrel turn the key anti clockwise will lock the box, and clockwise will unlock. We always advise to try this with the box in the open position so you get the feel of the mechanism and how it works.
