These are made as car hood ornaments in the 1920’s by famous glass make René Jules Lalique, who started a company using his own name, which still creates fine glassware today. Some of these would be lit underneath by a light and the faster the car was driven the brighter the Lalique car mascot shined.

The underside of the base is etched “Lalique France”
