Amboyna Writing Box with ebony edging and brass stringing by Russell & Jackson of Sheffield.

The interior of this Antique writing box opens to reveal a pen tray, inkwells and green leather with gold tooling writing surface.

The bottom half of the writing surface lifts to reveal storage space. The top half also lifts to reveal further storage space and allows access to three hidden drawers. Once the top half of the writing surface has been lifted the right hand wall of the storage compartment can be pressed causing the back to spring forward revealing three bone handled drawers.

There is a label on the base of the box which reads: Russell & Jackson Sheffield Manufacturers of Dressing Cases & Razor Strops

This Writing box comes with a fully working lock and tasselled key.
