Antique brass bound Jewellery boxveneered in stunning burr walnut inlaid with double brass stringing has engraved initial plate and escutcheon.

The interior of this antique brass bound jewellery box is lined with black leather type paper and teal padded silk velvet and features a removable jewellery tray with several compartments including two for rings, earrings or cufflinks. This tray can be lifted out to reveal further padded storage space underneath.

On the drawer face is a brass plaque that reads: Sharpe. Maker 85 Regent St, London.

The lid of the Antique jewellery box has a secret letter compartment, this springs forward to reveal a reversible mirror & teal velvet. To access this you need to place your thumb under the lock plate and feel for an indentation, squeezing this the mirror will spring forward revealing the secret compartment.

The front of the antique jewellery box houses a secure drawer which can be opened by pressing the brass button located on the back edge of the open box. This secure drawer is ideal for those precious items.

This antique jewellery box comes with a fully working lock and tasselled key.

Locking and unlocking your Jewellery box: You need to press the key into the barrel and keep pressed whilst turning anti clockwise to lock and the opposite to unlock. Please do this in the open position so you can see and feel the tolerance of the lock.

CONDITION REPORT:

This box came in to us with some old old veneer repairs, we have improved and left where we thought it would be OK. Also a dent to the bottom back edge can be seen in the images provided, this dent on the box when sat on a table or desk is barely visible. Please don’t let these small imperfections and its hard life put you off purchasing this lovely Jewellery Box. All of the above we like to think is price reflected.
