Opening the lid of this magnificent striking Jewellery box reveals a brass inscribed makers plaque between the two hinges which reads: Toumlin & Gale Makers London. Its lined in a contrasting white water silk paper and royal blue velvet. With a removable jewellery tray featuring six compartments, with two fitted for rings, earrings or cufflinks. Underneath this tray is a single large storage compartment.

All exquisite high quality work by the London firm Toumlin & Gale who were awarded at the “International Exhibition 1862” a prize medal for “excellence of material and workmanship”.
