Antique Jewellery Box veneered in sumptuous coromandel and inlaid with an intricate combination of brass stringing, engraved brass, mother of pearl and abalone to the top and front.

The interior of this eye catching sewing box lid has a mirror with a gold tooled velvet surround. The removable tray is lined with a blue velvet and blue watered silk paper with gold tooling. The tray has many cushioned compartments including two for holding rings, earrings and cufflinks secure. Underneath the tray has more space for storing other precious items.

This fabulous jewellery box comes with a fully functional lock and tasselled key.

Coromandel is a valuable wood found in India, Sri Lanka and South East Asia. It has a contrasting hazel-brown colour with black grain. It is a dense, heavy wood that is so popular it has been logged to extinction over the last few hundred years.
