Description

Antique sewing box veneered in fabulous burr walnut with dome top and applied engraved thick brass running from front to back. With engraved brass handles on either side.

The interior features a removable sewing tray that contains eight mother of pearl thread reels, a tool-pad with sewing hooks prickers and scissors, needlebooks, thimbles and a thread winder. Underneath this tray is a large storage area.
The underside of the main lid has a ruched silk letter compartment which is secured with a brass clasp.

This antique sewing box comes with a fully working lock and a tasselled key.
