Description

Fine Antique Jewellery box made of solid mahogany veneered in exotic and beautifully figured Coromandel with brass edging and double stringing on the front and top. With an engraved monogram that features a swan flanked by two Prince of Wales feathers.

The interior of this splendid jewellery box is lined in teal velvet and black silk paper. With a removable jewellery tray which contains seven compartments including two lined to hold rings, earrings or cufflinks. Using the two ribbon loops on either side this can be easily removed to reveal padded storage space underneath. In the middle of the open box is a brass button, which when pressed releases a hidden drawer at the front of the box which is lined in matching black silk paper.

The underside of the main lid has a velvet back hinged lid held in place by two brass clasps. Lifting this secondary lid reveals a gold-tooled leather back and two further storage compartments.

This jewellery box comes with a fully working Bramah lock and tasselled key. The key must be pressed into the sprung lock whilst turning clockwise to unlock.
