Antique Coromandel Jewellery Boxwith circular engraved initial plate with the monogram EK.

The interior jewellery box features a removable jewellery tray with blue velvet padded compartments lined with gold tooled leather, with a large storage compartment underneath.

The underside of the lid houses a ruched velvet backed mirror and a secret leather letter compartment.

The lock keep on the lid at the top edge of the box has three screws, place your thumb underneath the middle screw under the front edge of the box, you will feel a indentation squeeze this and the mirror will spring forward, this can be removed to allow access to the letter compartment and the mirror can be turned if preferred.

The front of the box has a secret drawer with can be accessed by pressing the brass button on the back edge of the open box, located in the middle of the center hinge. Pressing the button will cause the drawer to spring forward.
The drawer has a padded gold tooled leather lid which helps keep the contents of the drawer safe, which once lifted reveals two silk lined compartments, a padded space for rings, earrings or cufflinks, and a sections for a necklace or pocket watch.

This jewellery box comes with a fully working lock and tasselled key.
