Description

Antique oak letterbox, with brass letter slot with debossed “LETTERS” above the slot. The top also has a “post leaves” information plaque which is glazed with a brass frame. The front of the box has a brass escutcheon and a bevelled glass viewing window to see if any letters have been posted.

These post boxes would have been part of the house for outgoing letters. The post leaves card can be removed via a brass turn button inside the box allowing you to replace with a business card, your hotel details or your house name etc.

This late Victorian oak letterbox comes with a fully working and tasselled key.
