Antique solid mahogany box bound in brass and reinforced with screws for added extra strength.

Lifting the lid reveals its interior lined with dark blue cotton velvet and a wonderful piece of embroidery of a Fish & Lure on the underside of the lid.

This Antique box comes complete with a fully working lock and tasselled key.

Original Antique Jewellery Boxes are quite rare to find. We do come across them from time to time and have some on our website. Most were combination boxes i.e. Vanity Boxes with a Jewellery compartment or some were Sewing boxes with Jewellery compartments.
