Antique rosewood writing box with beautiful brass, mother of pearl and abalone inlay, has a secret compartment and is stamped with the makers mark for Fisher.

With a green leather writing surface adorned with gold tooling. With two small ribbon loops to aid in lifting both the lower and upper halves. The lower half has a large storage space and the underside of the writing slope has the retailer’s name that reads: “Fisher 188 Strand“. This can also be found on the underside of the upper half.
The large storage space underneath the upper half has a secret! It has two hidden drawers which can be accessed by removing the right-hand inkwell and pressing on the lower right-hand side of its compartment base. This will cause a false wall to spring forward revealing the two drawers!

Complete with a Bramah Patent lock which requires the key to be pressed into the lock and turned clockwise to unlock.
