Antique Tunbridge Ware sewing basket with a very unusual shape and design not seen before. It has a super coloured print of Brighton Pavilion on its lid and gold leaf decoration of roses on a black background on all sides. The basket has a shaped carry handle with two simple black lines running its length.

The interior of this charming Tunbridge sewing box is lined with pink paper and has a lovely message penned on the front inner edge. It reads ” Mr Smith to Miss C. Harris for friendship’s sake. Nov’r 6: 1821.” Lovely piece of history adding to the charm of this rare piece.
