Description

Antique Writing Box veneered in Coromandel, bound with quadrant brass and has double brass stringing to the top and front. Both escutcheons are round and engraved with the top one having entwined initials A.R.

The interior has a red and gold leather writing surface, original glass brass screw top inkwells with a pen tray for holding pens and pencils and has five divided compartments for calling cards and other stationery. The writing surface lifts up to reveal space underneath on both sides for storage. At the front of the Writing Box under the lockable writing surface there are two secret drawers, to gain access to these pull up on the left divider next to the inkwell, this then releases a spring wooden cover which reveals two secret drawers.

The Antique Writing Box comes complete with fully working locks one being stamped Bramah, London and come with tasselled keys and original brass screw top inkwells.
