Antique Calamander Writing Box with beautiful Brass Greek key edging and ornate engraved initial plate and escutcheon. Includes secret drawers.

Inside of this stunning antique writing box has a black leather writing surface that has matching Greek key gold tooling. The brass hinges, lock mechanism and surface catches have exquisite detailed engraving to match the initial plate and escutcheon on the exterior, with a coromandel pen tray flanked by two brass screw top inkwells.

The lower half of the antique writing box surface can be lifted by sliding the two brass lock tabs open, revealing a large storage space underneath.
The top half can also be lifted to reveal more storage space, and a secret compartment. Removing the right hand inkwell and pressing on the bottom right hand side of the base will cause the back wall of the secret compartment to spring forward. Allowing access to two velvet lined drawers.

This wonderful antique writing box comes with a fully working lock and tasselled key.
