Description

Antique Writing Box. The top has a penwork border and is adorned with a beautiful coloured print depicting “infant Bacchus delivered to Nymphs on Mount Ida”.

The interior of this early writing slope is lined with pink paper and features its original green felt writing surface which can be lifted to reveal a large storage space underneath.

Towards the back edge of the early Tunbridge Ware writing slope are four compartments including two carrying original inkwells, which can removed to reveal a segmented storage space.

This writing box comes with a fully working lock and tasselled key.
