Description

The present piece is a classic Art Deco Tantalus with two large Glass Decanters enclosed within an ebony frame featuring shagreen dots by Jaques Adnet.

This super stylish Art Deco Tantalus features a chromium-plated sprung locking mechanism that holds in place two large Crystal Cut Decanters. They are set upon an Ebony-veneered base with three shagreen dots, one large and two smaller ones on either side.

On the bottom of each Decanter are roundels embedded into their base. These roundels, when placed within the void of a Tantalus, allow the larger of the shagreen dots to be viewed through the Decanter.

Each cut crystal decanter is fitted with a large T-bar stopper. The Tantalus features a locking carry handle to secure the decanters; when unlocked, the handle lifts up, allowing the decanters to be removed individually.

The work and design of this piece, although not signed, can only be attributed to Jaques Adnet due to its exceptional quality and design.
