Description
Pair of Art Deco cut glass decanters by Asprey of London with sterling silver collars, hallmarked Birmingham 1934, and glass stoppers.
These were a gift given to a member of the Symington family on their wedding day in 1935.
William Symington founded the company in 1827, with his passion for dried foods which were easy to prepare. His most successful creation was pea flour, which meant that delicious soups could be made by just adding boiling water. Symington’s became popular with the military and his pea flour was even taken to the Antarctic by Robert Falcon Scott during his expedition.
