Original Enamel Dial with Blue Numbers

From our Accessories collection, we are delighted to offer this Bi-Metal Carriage Clock by Wright & Davies. The clock of long rectangular form with looped top handle cast in Sterling Silver with alternating 9 carat Rose Gold vertical bands. The clock raised upon four rounded pie crust feet. The case hallmarked in multiple places WRW for Wright & Davies (William Frederick Wright), London and is dated 1897. The clock body is fitted with a cream enamel dial with blue numerals and brass-turned hands. The movement has been fully stripped and cleaned during its service when entering our collection.

Sterling Silver is an alloy composed by weight of 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metals, usually copper. The sterling silver standard has a minimum millesimal fineness (parts per thousand) of 925.

Wright & Davies (William Frederick Wright & Frederick Davies) established there mark in 1895 and worked out of their already established workshops in Oxford Street London. They were known for smaller silver items such as belts, cigarette cases, clock cases, vestas amongst many other objects.
