The hexagonal-shaped Tea Chest is extensively decorated in gilt with black lacquer: with various scenes of small Chinese figures in gardens, with intricately worked foliate gilt borders, with ball finial and stands on winged feet.

The interior has a removable paktong caddy with engraved chinoiserie decoration. Featuring a cap and bone-handled lid.
