Chinoiserie Barrel Tea Caddy, circa 1800

Very rare Caddy in the shape of a Wine barrel ebonised and simply painted in a European interpretation of Chinese figures with a floral decoration standing on a turned ebonised & painted base. The escutcheon, finger pull, lock & hinge are all made of cut steel / Iron, and the interior still has traces of its original tin lining.

This very unique Tea Caddy has a fully working lock, comes with its original key and would be a superb addition to any collection.
