Antique Jewellery Boxveneered in beautiful Coromandel with brass edging, stringing, vacant initial plate and S.Mordon & Co lock. The sides of the box have flush fitting brass carrying handles.

The antique jewellery boxes interior is lined with luxurious green velvet and silk paper and features a removable jewellery tray with seven cushioned compartments including two for rings, earrings or cufflinks.

On the back edge of the opened jewellery box is a brass button pressing this will cause the hidden jewellery drawer at the front of the box to spring open. The jewellery drawer is lined in the same manner as the rest of the box with three equal compartments, perfect for precious jewellery, bracelets and watches.

This antique coromandel jewellery box comes with a fully working lock and tasselled key.

Coromandel is a valuable wood found in India, Sri Lanka and South East Asia. It has a contrasting hazel-brown colour with black grain. It is a dense, heavy wood that is so popular it has been logged to extinction over the last few hundred years.
