Antique dome top games compendium veneered in beautifully figured exotic Coromandel with robust silvered edging, escutcheon and carry handles.
Lifting the lid of this super games compendium reveals stunning exotic Satinwood lined interior with Ebony lippings. The underside of the lid houses a reversible chess/draughts and backgammon board made from Coromandel and Ivory.

The main interior houses a Staunton chess set comprising red-stained and natural ivory pieces. Red stained and natural ivory draughts pieces, two ivory peg boards, two ivory finger pointers, eight red-stained and natural ivory score pegs and six dice.

On the back edge of the open box is a button, which when pressed causes a hidden drawer at the front of the box to spring forward. This drawer contains four decks of cards with bezique scorecards, two dice shakers and red stained and natural ivory counters.
There is a small plaque on the edge of the drawer which reads:“W. Thornhill & Co New Bond St. W”
