Antique Coromandel Jewellery boxwith Mother of Pearl initial plate and escutcheon.

The interior is lined in burgundy silk paper and velvet. This jewellery box has a removable tray with several compartments, including two for rings, earrings and cufflinks. Underneath this tray is further padded storage space.

The underside of the lid houses a ruched velvet backed removable mirror and a hidden letter compartment. To gain access: The lock keep on the lid at the top edge of the box has three screws, place your thumb underneath the middle screw under the front edge of the box, you will feel a indentation squeeze this and the ruched leather pad will spring forward, this can be removed to allow access to the letter compartment, the mirror can be turned facing if preferred.

This jewellery box has a drawer located at the front of the box. It can be accessed by removing the small brass pin from the right hand side of the box. This will cause the drawer to spring open. This drawer is the perfect safe storage space for those precious items.

This jewellery box comes with a fully working lock and tasselled key.
