Lifting the lid reveals a purple velvet lined interior with black silk paper lined dividers.

The underside of the lid houses a removable velvet backed mirror. Removing the mirror allows access to a gold tooled hidden letter compartment. Inside this compartment is a makers label which reads:
“Halstaff & Hannaford Manufacturers 228. Regent St London”

The main jewellery tray can be removed using its two brass loop handles, to reveal to larger padded compartments underneath.

The front of the box has a separate lockable drawer with three velvet lined compartments.
