Description

Antique coromandel jewellery box with brass edging and triple stringing to the front. With a vacant brass initial plate and escutcheon.

The interior has been given a very modern contemporary look, lined with grey cotton velvet and black Japanese water silk paper, it features a removable jeweller tray with six compartments including two that are specially fitted for holding rings, earrings or cufflinks.
On the back edge of the open box is a brass button, when pressed causes a hidden drawer at the front of the box to spring open. This drawer has a padded base making it perfect for storing the most precious items.
On the left-hand edge of the open box is another brass button that releases another hidden drawer on the right-hand side of the box.

This jewellery box comes with a fully working Bramah Lock and a tasselled key. The key must be pressed into the sprung lock whilst turning clockwise to unlock.
