Description

Antique Writing Box by Lund veneered in beautifully figured exotic Coromandel with double-strung brass on the top and front. With a vacant initial plate and brass escutcheon. The exterior is finished with bold brass quadrant edging.

The interior features a teal leather writing surface that is in excellent condition and features gold tooling. The writing surface is separated into two halves. The lower is held secure by a small brass tab in the lock keep. Lifting the lower half reveals a large Mahogany storage space. The upper half is lockable and uses the same key as the main lock on the box.

This upper storage space has a removable mahogany tray which is engraved with: “Lund 23 & 24 Fleet St London“.

The top edge of the box has a removable pen tray flanked by small lidded compartments and two brass top inkwells.

This writing box comes with a fully working lock and a tasselled key.
