Fantastic quality Coromandel Dome top brass bound Jewellery Boxstanding on a plinth base with brass edging and shield shaped escutcheon.

The interior of this exquisite jewellery box is lined in beautiful green silk paper and cotton velvet. Featuring a removable tray which has five padded compartments including one with a padded cotton watch holder and two small compartments for holding rings, earrings or cufflinks. The Jewellery box can hold three watches in the top and four watches in the base, if required.

On the back edge of the open box is a brass makers/retailers plaque which reads:
“Wood & Cockayne Lord St Liverpool” The Jewellery Watch box has a fully working lock and tasselled key.

Coromandel is a valuable wood found in India, Sri Lanka and South East Asia. It has a contrasting hazel-brown colour with black grain. It is a dense, heavy wood that is so popular it has been logged to extinction over the last few hundred years.
