Featuring an Inscription to the base
From our Silver collection, we are pleased to offer this Silver Basket. The basket of oval shape stood upon a rounded base with slight pinched centre. The basket with deep bowl bordered by an abstract corn border of high quality with a hinged loop handle also features a border with an abstract thistle design. The basket is signed to the base Cornelia Fricks and is dated 1827. The Basket is not hallmarked but has been tested as Sterling Silver 925.
Sterling Silver is an alloy composed by weight of 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metals, usually copper. The sterling silver standard has a minimum millesimal fineness (parts per thousand) of 925.
